What I’m up to

Building
The site, mostly. I moved it off WordPress recently and I’m rebuilding most of it again. Slower than I want.
Outside of that, I’ve been spending real time on what I’d call personal infrastructure — a notes system on Qdrant that’s slowly turning into a real second brain instead of a fancy search bar, a self-hosted audiobook setup (one library for me, one for my wife), and a small fleet of n8n workflows and MCP servers I’ve stitched together because off-the-shelf tools rarely fit how I actually work. Most of the systems stuff I build ends up running on my own hardware first.
Reading and listening
Mostly LitRPG and progression fantasy these days. Long series like Primal Hunter and Dungeon Crawler Carl.
Thinking about
- ◆What happens to performance marketing when AI is the layer the buyer talks to, instead of the marketer’s work. That’s a different and more interesting question than “how do we use AI in our ads.”
- ◆AI agents in practice. What they’re actually good at, where they fall apart, and how much of the difference comes down to context handling versus model quality.
- ◆Owning more of my own stack. What’s worth running myself versus renting from someone whose roadmap I don’t control. The answer keeps getting more interesting.
Where
Northeast Ohio. Wife, three kids, two dogs.
Saying yes to
Conversations with people who run growth in insurance or performance marketing. Partners where the economics work both directions. Operators talking honestly about their stack — what’s working, what isn’t.
Saying no to
Cold pitches for AI productivity tools. Recruiting calls for things that aren’t revenue-adjacent. Meetings that exist to schedule meetings.
This page exists because static portfolios feel like brochures. If you came back, the date above should have moved.
